It is an excellent starting point for exploring the surrounding beauty. The area is characterised by a rural atmosphere, but at the same time it is well connected to the main communication routes, which makes it possible to enjoy the serenity of the village without giving up the convenience of reaching other places.
A few minutes away is Lake Comabbio, which can be reached by a short walk. This lake, which offers an enchanting view of the surrounding mountains, is a perfect corner of peace for those who enjoy walking along its shores or practising water activities such as rowing or fishing. The proximity of the lake also makes the area ideal for those seeking a place to relax surrounded by nature.
Ternate is also a centre rich in history. From the accommodation it is easy to reach the Parish Church of Saints Quirico and Giulitta, whose majestic bell tower dominates the village landscape. The church is an important symbol for the local community and represents a central place of worship for Ternate. Also located a short distance away is the Church of Santa Maria del Sasso, a historic structure dating back centuries that offers visitors an impressive view thanks to its elevated position and interior frescoes.
Not far away, stands the Villa Leonardi, a historic mansion surrounded by a park that adds a touch of elegance to the area. Although the tower of the villa cannot be visited, the surrounding green area remains a beautiful place to stroll and immerse oneself in the history of Ternate. The area is also characterised by small corners of tranquillity such as the War Memorial, located in Piazza Libertà, which commemorates the victims of the world wars and adds an important historical dimension to the town.
The Ternate railway station is about 1.5 km from the Traveller's hut, offering the possibility of easy travel to explore other regional locations.
About 10 km away, the Campo dei Fiori Regional Park offers a protected area perfect for hiking and breathtaking views. In Varese, about 15 km away, you can visit Villa Panza, famous for its contemporary art collection, and Sacromonte, a religious site offering splendid views of the city and surrounding plain. Also in Varese, the Masnago Castle is an important historical monument, while Monte San Giorgio, about 20 km away, is known for its unique geology and spectacular views.
