Vacation in a holiday home in the Thuringian Forest
The Thuringian Forest is an uninterrupted stretch of curved mountains, stretching from northwest to southeast in Thuringia, Germany. Much of its highest point is covered with thick pines and firs. The forest is 35 km wide, and is also referred to as the green heart of Germany. One can rent holiday apartments and holiday houses in the Thuringian Forest to stay close to nature. Some Germans believe that the forest is so charming that it has inspired many a people such as famous composer Johann Sebastian Bach, born in the nearby town of Eisenach. Guests can also book one of the charming holiday homes or holiday apartments in the town.
Spend peaceful time
Quaint villages line the calm highlands of the forest. If one is looking to spend some quiet time, then look for holiday rentals and holiday homes in these parts. Holidaymakers can also visit the Wartburg Castle in Eisenach, where Martin Luther translated the New Testament into German. From a vacation in a holiday home to four-star holiday houses, there is something for every traveller here.
Indulge in activities and sightseeing
The Thuringian Forest also has a few easy hiking trails such as the one in Rennsteig. The Peaks Trail is another path where holidaymakers can cover seven 900-metre mountains in the Oberhof region. Many bicycle tours are also offered here. Day trippers can make enquires with their holiday houses and holiday rentals to know more about them.
Another place of interest is Ohrdruf, a little town located on the northern side of the Thuringian Forest, where the kewpie doll and the rocking horse were invented. Here, one can visit the local museum to learn more about toy making. The charm of Thuringian Forest lies in the wild yet pristine beauty of nature, which never fails to impress.
