    “The closest little town is Poppi. It offers your most basic needs whether it's shopping or food. There's a couple of shops selling local produce, there's a butcher (very good), a couple of wine stores , a few bakeries for your breakfast bread as well as your basic grocery stores. The gelateria and coffee shop at town square is a perfect starting point for all of this.

    Poppi is located close to several other small villages which helps diversify your stay. Poppi is a bit too small if you're planning to stay longer than a week and want to dine out a lot. Ask Monica and she'll recommend you several very good restaurants.

    Just outside of Poppi you have a very nice vineyard that offers wine tastings. We were very well treated.
    Overall all Italians we met were very polite mannered and helpful, even though there were some language barriers.”

    “Poppi is een niet zo toeristisch stadje met wel alle voorzieningen voor boodschappen enzomeer. Het oude Poppi met haar kasteel boven op een heuvel is zeker de moeite om te bezoeken. Op het plein voor het kasteel zit je heerlijk in de schaduw en kan je bij een drankje genieten van prachtige uitzichten.
    In de omgeving zijn zeker lekkere eetgelenheden te vinden met typisch Toscaanse gerechten. Als je naar het vlakbijgelegen ristorante La Torricella gaat dan geniet je tijdens het diner op een zeer mooi panoramisch balkon van het uitzicht op oud Poppi met het verlichte kasteel. Echte grote toeristische trekpleisters zijn er niet in de omgeving, behalve de stad Arrezzo dan, maar dat vonden wij juist heel leuk om niet zo in een drukke toeristische regio te verblijven.”
