    “Gustrow is a beautiful town. It is full of wonderful medieval architecture which is often complemented by some well designed contemporary building and/or restoration. We visited the town especially to see Ernst Barlach's studio and the Hovering Angel sculpture in the Cathedral. There are two excellent museums in the town and the surrounding countryside is ideal for cycling and walking. We mostly self-catered, but we ate out a couple of times, and the restaurants were very good.”

    “Güstrow liegt ideal, wenn man Mecklenburg-Vorpommern näher kennen lernen will. Jeder Küstenort und die mecklenburgische Seenplatte sind innerhalb kürzester Zeit zu erreichen. Güstrow selbst ist sehens- und liebenswert, für Kunstliebhaber als Barlachstadt geradezu ein "muss", trotzdem gar nicht überlaufen und überaus erholsam.”
