The house is ideal for nature lovers and hikers, as the famous Kellerwaldsteig trail passes right by the house just 200 metres away. Explore the unique natural landscape and discover the diversity of the region. You don't have to go far for culinary delights. The Gasthaus zum Hohen Lohr nearby will spoil you with regional delicacies, and the chef is known for her various types of homemade bread. If you fancy a day out, the town of Bad Wildungen is just 18 kilometres away. Here you can visit the mine, explore Europe's largest spa gardens or visit the imposing Friedrichstein Castle. A hike to the Homberg also promises unforgettable impressions.

Recommendations from the landlord:- Haina Monastery is one of the best-preserved and art-historical monastery complexes in Germany. Battenhausen, a district of Haina-Kloster, is known for the Haina Monastery, which is famous for the painter Johann Heinrich Tischbein, Goethe's best friend. Tischbein painted Goethe in Tuscany between 1751 and 1829, and the picture shows Goethe sitting with a large hat. This painting is extremely well known and hardly affordable. Incidentally, Goethe's small brown and white half-timbered birthplace hangs in the K.-W. Hütte.- The inn "Zum Hohen Lohr" in Battenhausen offers traditional cuisine from the region. It is now run by the fifth generation of the family and the chef bakes various types of bread herself. The chef conjures up à la carte dishes and is highly recommended by the locals.
