Ferienhaus "Malvaglia,Serravalle

The 500-year-old Valserhaus was completely restored in 2014. Your holiday home is a 2-minute drive or 10-minute walk from the bus stop (Malvaglia Chiesa). The beautiful stone/wooden house with a rented car park 20 metres away is located in a quiet residential area just above the village church. The house is not suitable for children and teenagers and is therefore rented exclusively to couples (not sleeping separately). The owner lives regularly in this house herself, which is why it is fully furnished. Basic foodstuffs as well as toilet paper, household paper, spices, dishwasher tabs, washing machine tabs etc. are available. Everything may be used by the guests (but does not have to be :-)).

Malvaglia is well served by public transport. 5km to the Biasca SBB train station or to the motorway in the direction of Zurich/Lucerne/Bern or Locarno/Lugano/Chiasso. Shopping at Coop and Denner or the pharmacy is 30 minutes on foot, 8 minutes by car. The house is luxuriously restored and furnished (antique combined with USM and Corbusier) and has two floors. On the ground floor there is a bedroom for 2 people with an integrated bathroom (bath, WC, washbasin).

1st floor: living/dining area, fully equipped open-plan kitchen, long wooden veranda, sun terrace with views of the valley. Bathroom with shower, WC, washbasin. Office (not lockable) with access to the terrace and fenced garden. Heating: heat pump (Stiebel Eltron) with solar panels, underfloor heating, granite floor in entrance and living/dining area. WLAN, Swisscom TV and DAB radio There are cosy lawn and granite slab seating areas around the house.

Ground floor: Door to the bedroom. Dark oak parquet flooring, beds (2x90x200cm electrically adjustable, bed linen, shower/towels, 2 Eileen Grey bedside tables, "Touch" wall/table reading lamps, Löwe Swisscom TV, French window to the seating area, open bathroom with bath, Villeroy & Boch toilet, washbasin with angular washbasin, mosaic wall, dark oak parquet flooring, antique, hand-planed, oiled. Wooden door to the utility room, washing machine with integrated tumble dryer, further door to the réduit (for the owner only).

(Metal) staircase to the living/dining area, white kitchen with glass front/cover, cooking island with glass ceramic hob and integrated extractor, pull-out drawers, Miele Knock-to-open washing machine, fridge with 3 freezer drawers, Attika Swedish stove, antique dining table with 4 baroque armchairs covered in yellow, red, blue and green leather, black leather Corbusier lounger, black leather sofa, antique baroque cupboard with sufficient crockery (Alt Strasbourg). Plate warmer, toaster, fully automatic DeLonghi coffee machine (coffee beans available), Nespresso coffee machine on request, oven, microwave, bathroom (shower with glass doors, Villeroy & Boch toilet), garden - hillside location, not fenced - for private use, > 200 m2), garden furniture, barbecue (electric), car park / carport for 2 vehicles.

The Malvaglia Valley, situated at the entrance to the Blenio Valley, also known as the Sun Valley, boasts an incredible variety of unspoilt landscapes. From the chestnut groves and vineyards of the lower valley to the Adula glacier, past green meadows, mountain pastures, fir and larch forests. These valleys are a paradise for nature lovers! In summer, the region is ideal for beautiful hikes or mountain bike tours in the midst of breathtaking scenery. In the winter season, you can go skiing and sledging on pistes specially designed for families, or you can take advantage of the snow-covered plains prepared for cross-country skiing. The area is rich in history with its beautiful churches, the castle, the fossil museum, Palazzo Landfogti and the Ludiano wine press. It has about 2100 inhabitants and is situated at an altitude of about 400 metres above sea level, bordering the municipality of Biasca to the south and Acquarossa to the north. In the village you will find: Town hall, post office, bank, bus stop, pharmacy, supermarkets, butcher's shop, bars and restaurants. For nature lovers there are sandy beaches and many bathing spots along the river Brenno, which is part of the Legiuna nature reserve.

Excursion options: City strolls in Bellinzona, Locarno or Lugano, Swiss Miniature in Melide, Brissago Islands, Monte Tamaro, boat trips on Lake Maggiore or Lake Lugano, lots of hiking opportunities, shopping in the FOX TOWN shopping centre, Mendrisio motorway exit, open Mon - Sun 11.00 - 19.00, 160 shops. Market in Luino (Italy) Wednesday 09.00 - 16.30 and market in Cannobio Sunday 08.00 - 13.00

Location description: The municipality of Serravalle with its approx. 2,100 inhabitants is located at the entrance to the Blenio Valley at approx. 400 metres above sea level north of Biasca and south of Acquarossa. The municipality covers an area of approx. 100m2, and more than 85% of the area consists of forest. Serravalle was created on 1 April 2012 from a merger of the municipalities of Malvaglia (left side of the valley) and Ludiano and Semione (right side of the valley).

    “Topp ausgestattetes und sauberes Ferienhaus mit besonderem Charme – außen deutlich zu erkennen, das perfekt renovierte über 500 Jahre alte Valserhaus mit gekonntem Mix von alten und neuen Elementen. Der Garten sehr schön angelegt. Innen ein geschmackvoller Mix aus modernen und alten Möbeln. Geschmackvolle Funktionalität auch in den Bädern. Den Blick von gut sowie bequem ausgestatteten Terrasse und Balkon haben wir sehr genossen – ein echtes Idyll.
    Frau Meyer hat uns freundlich empfangen und stand uns bei Problemen (Unfall mit Krankenhausbesuch) überaus hilfsbereit zur Seite. So haben wir uns trotz allem erholt und genossen die Ruhe sehr.”
