House and garden in detail
The fully refurbished holiday home is situated on a 1,500 square metre fenced meadow and offers 150 square metres of living space for 6 people. In addition, there is a separate baby room with a cot and, if required, another travel cot for small children and a sofa bed for another child (also large enough for adults).
The house has 3 bedrooms (1 on the ground floor, 2 on the first floor), two of which are furnished with a double bed and one with two single beds (can also be pushed together to form a double bed). All windows in the bedrooms and the baby room are fitted with pleated blinds so that you can sleep undisturbed in the morning and even when the sun is shining.
3 sanitary rooms are available. 1 bathroom with shower, bathtub, washbasin and WC (1st floor); 1 bathroom with shower, washbasin and WC (ground floor); and another separate guest toilet (ground floor). All sanitary rooms have windows and natural light.
The kitchen is equipped in such a way that it can be used for quick freezer cooking as well as for a celebrated cooking pleasure. There is a dishwasher, a large hob with extractor bonnet, a fridge and freezer, an oven and a microwave in addition to all the necessary kitchen utensils to make the preparation of a sophisticated menu a pleasure. And of course we have also provided a machine for a delicious cup of coffee. Tea drinkers will find a pot and a teapot for their enjoyment. There is also a washing machine with integrated tumble dryer, an ironing board and an iron.
The large living/dining room provides the basis for cosy get-togethers. Here you can make yourself comfortable next to the crackling fire of the fireplace on the large couch with all the occupants in front of the flat-screen TV, surf the Internet (integrated in the TV), log in via WLAN with your own laptop, play your films in Dolby Surround on the Blu-ray player, listen to a CD or dine, play and chat at the dining table for 8 people.
The 1,500 square metre garden is almost completely fenced in, so you can give your children free rein. There is even a large enough area for playing football. We have provided a sandpit, swings and slide for children. Meanwhile, the adults can take a seat on the meadow terrace at the table with 6 comfortable chairs and enjoy the delicacies prepared on the large swivelling barbecue or in the oven, or simply sunbathe on the loungers.

The Lommiland holiday home is just as suitable for long-term holidaymakers as it is for a short trip out of the city as a couple or with friends to cook and experience nature together. For reasons of hygiene, you are not allowed to bring your pets. Smoking is therefore unfortunately only permitted in the garden.
You will find everything your baby needs in the first few months of life, from a bottle warmer, vaporiser and baby cot monitored by a baby monitor (which extends into the garden) to a pram (including twin prams), buggy, walking frame, baby bouncer and high chair. Apart from clothes, nappies, food and bottles, you don't need to bring anything with you. For parents of twins in particular, this means a stress-free journey and space in the boot for your hiking boots or your own tennis racket.
Location and surroundings
Our holiday home is nestled in a rural environment that is still used for farming today. The neighbour's chickens come right up to the garden fence and enjoy a fresh leaf of lettuce. Nearby farms are mainly involved in dairy farming. Our younger guests can poke their noses in and watch the farmer at work. In the village of Lommersdorf there is a Catholic church that is over 1,000 years old. There is a bakery and a pub. All shopping facilities, petrol station, bank, cash machine, doctors, pharmacies and restaurants can be found in Blankenheim, which is approx. 10 minutes away by car. The train station with a direct connection to Cologne is in Blankenheim-Wald, 16 kilometres away, but is difficult to reach by public transport from Lommersdorf or by taxi bus.
Excursion possibilities : In the immediate vicinity you will find beautiful nature, a swimming lake, all possibilities for hiking or cycling, but also well-known and popular leisure facilities such as Phantasialand, Nürburgring or the Eifel National Park.

Other sports and leisure facilities : You can use the leisure facilities of the holiday village of Freilingen, which is only 3 km away, free of charge at any time. Here you will find a large outdoor swimming pool (25 m x 12.5 m) with sunbathing lawn, 2 tennis courts, 1 tennis practice court, a mini-golf course, an outdoor table tennis table and a children's playground. We have tennis, minigolf and table tennis rackets and balls ready for you. You should only bring your own swimming trunks and tennis skirt. In addition to the free use of the leisure facilities in the holiday village of Freilingen, 5 minutes away by car, the water sports facilities of the nearby Freilinger See (3 minutes) are also free of charge. Here you can swim, surf, dive and dinghy in summer. You only have to pay separately for parking in the car parks. For hikers, there is an inexhaustible supply of well-maintained and signposted forest, meadow and field paths, whereby the approx. 110 km long Ahrsteig from Blankenheim to Sinzig, which runs past Lommersdorf, is particularly worth mentioning. For cyclists, the constant ups and downs of the existing routes in the Eifel are certainly a challenge, but with the modern e-bikes that can be hired in a nearby town, such landscapes can also be travelled comfortably by bike. The Ahr Valley cycle path from Blankenheim to Schuld is even mostly at ground level and for experienced mountain bikers, the entire Eifel is of course an Eldorado. For motorsport fans, the Nürburgring, about 25 minutes away, is a particular attraction. A visit to the 'Green Hell' is also worthwhile if you don't want to try it out yourself in your own car. However, this option is available, as are the many leisure activities on offer there (cinema, go-kart track, racing museum, etc.). Phantasialand in Brühl is approx. 30 minutes away and casts a spell over visitors of all ages. Here, the world of fantasy is at your feet in all its facets. If you want to immerse yourself in unspoilt nature, we recommend a visit to the Eifel National Park. The former Nazi Ordensburg Vogelsang (approx. 50 min.), which is now used as a documentation and memorial site of the former reign of terror, offers an introduction to this area. The unique landscape of the primeval geological formations of the Volcanic Eifel with its maars can also be reached in approx. 50 minutes. In winter, the Eifel skiing opportunities with the well-known starting points around the Weißer Stein near Hellenthal can be reached in approx. 40 minutes or the Hohe Acht near Adenau in approx. 40 minutes. The open-air museum in Kommern (approx. 30 minutes) is suitable for a day trip for the whole family. Old walls reorganised in the context of the tangible everyday life of our ancestors, this museum offers a hands-on experience. Admission is free for all children. For fans of fortified walls, there are also many castles and palaces in the Eifel region to visit. Even though some of these castles are not open to the public due to their private use, the location and good state of preservation alone make it well worth a visit. Satzvey Castle (approx. 30 min.), for example, offers many cultural events, entertaining its visitors with knights' games, fairs in the old days, Easter and Christmas markets and concerts. However, there is always an entrance fee. The 18-hole golf course of the Eifel Golf Club is located 15 kilometres away in Hillesheim (approx. 15 minutes), where guests are also welcome to play. If you love medieval towns, you should definitely visit Bad Münstereifel (approx. 20 min.) with its fully preserved town wall and numerous historical buildings. Here you will also find the very popular Eifelbad (large indoor pool with sauna, children's pool and 122 metre giant slide), where you can have fun on a rainy day. The town of Monschau (approx. 60 min.) is also worth a visit. The Christmas market and the Red House are a particular attraction here. Animal lovers can sometimes even get up close and personal with wild animals in the various wildlife parks in the area. The wildlife park in Hellenthal (approx. 40 min.) with its bird of prey breeding and free flight demonstrations impresses all visitors. The Kasselburg Eagle and Wolf Park (approx. 35 min.) with its large natural enclosure and spacious aviaries is home to the largest pack of wolves in Western Europe on a 10-hectare site. In the Hochwildpark Rheinland in Kommern (approx. 30 min.) you can experience wild boar and roe deer without fences and a petting zoo with a large neighbouring playground rounds off the offer for the little ones.
