The baroque church in the village centre was built in 1730 and is particularly impressive with its rich and colourful decor. Many events, such as the popular spa concerts in the spa gardens, the traditional evening brass band, popular dance and traditional costume evenings, the Neptune Festival, the Easter bonfire, the fountain festival, the clubs' festival week, original carnival events from November to March or the Christmas market offer you a variety of cultural highlights during your stay. But other rare animal species such as the black stork, dipper and eagle owl are also evidence of a still intact nature and undisturbed habitats. The Finsterbergen nature trail introduces you to the local flora and fauna. In summer, simply lie down in the fragrant meadows, gaze up at the azure blue sky, watch the clouds play or the birds fly and feel like you're in paradise. With 90 kilometres of marked hiking trails in the healing climate, cycle paths to the Rennsteig, nature lovers and cyclists will get their money's worth.
Finsterbergen and its surroundings offer you a colourful range of sports and leisure activities for great holiday fun on the Rennsteig. Switch off, recharge your batteries and have fun in your holiday resort.
