Quietly located holiday home with private pool

This lovingly restored village house with an enclosed courtyard planted with Mediterranean plants is located in the centre of the village, close to the beautiful little church. Nevertheless, the completely enclosed courtyard offers you peace and privacy. Peri is a small village on a hill above the fertile Messara plain with friendly, helpful inhabitants without any tourism. You are immersed in Greek life. Everything you need is close by, as described below. Enjoy the marvellous view over the Messara and the surrounding mountains with the highest mountain of Crete, the Psiloritis.

The enclosed courtyard offers peace and quiet and many places to relax on different levels. The terrace on the roof offers a marvellous view of Psiloritis (the highest mountain in Crete) and the surrounding mountain massifs. In the distance you can see the white mountains and, on clear days, the sea. Olive groves as far as the eye can see. From June 2017, the small pool will be put back into operation for the summer months. This will be complemented by an outdoor shower. You can park a car in a private car park free of charge.

With a living space of approx. 110 m², the accommodation offers enough space for a maximum of five adults.
The house was lovingly restored up until 2012, with all the modern comforts. The living room has a cosy seating area, a coffee table and a fireplace. The large kitchen is well equipped with an oven, a gas hob, a fridge, a dishwasher, a toaster, a kettle and a dining table with seating and offers cooking enthusiasts everything they need for cooking and baking. In two of the three bedrooms there is a double bed (1.80 metres wide and 1.60 metres wide), in the third you will find a single bed (0.90 metres wide). The bathroom features a shower, WC, washbasin and hairdryer. In the apothiki (storage room) you will find another fridge, a washing machine (free of charge) and firewood (by arrangement). The landlord will be happy to provide you with a high chair, children's toys and board games for young and old free of charge. Heating and air conditioning are partially available. You can also use two fans. Internet is not available.

Friendly neighbours make things easier for you in your new surroundings (if you want). The beaches of Kalamaki, Matala and the beautiful Komos Beach are 20 to 25 minutes away by car. All around in the mountains there are many beautiful villages, breathtaking gorges and secluded bays. The archaeological sites of Phaistos and Agia Deka are also only 20 minutes away. The district town of Mires (Moires), with all the necessary facilities, such as supermarkets, greengrocers, doctors, pharmacies, hospital and every Saturday market, is two kilometres away, Sivas and Pitsidia with nice tavernas and cafés can be reached in ten to fifteen minutes. Directly behind the house there are several paths for walking through hills and olive fields. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the hospitality of the villagers.

If you have no problem with a very loving (and watchful) little dog, "Boubou" will be happy to be your guest. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate pets in the house. A hire car can be made available to you for the entire time from/to the airport. You can park your hire car on the street below the house and drive right up to the front door to unload and load it. If you need help or tips on site, just ask the neighbours.

    “VIJF STERREN. Precies wat we zochten! De foto’s op de site geven een goed idee van de werkelijkheid: een ruim, comfortabel huis dat met goede smaak en liefde verbouwd is. En met goede smaak en liefde is ingericht.
    We voelden ons er meteen thuis en het was na een dag op pad altijd heerlijk terug komen in Peri.
    Wat niet zo goed te zien is op de foto’s: de vele leuke details in het huis, de ruime voorraad aan bestek, borden, pannen, de grote oven. En dat het huis brandschoon is. Dat het water uit de kraan ook drinkwater is en dat je niet naar chloor ruikt als je onder de (fijne) douche vandaan komt zoals in Heraklion.
    De verhuurder reageerde snel op al onze vragen, bemiddelde zelfs bij het goedkoop huren van een auto en heeft uitgebreide en heldere informatie over het huis op papier.
    Om het geloofwaardig te houden, dan nog wat mogelijke minpunten. De genoemde informatie is in het Duits. De vaatwasser is wat klein. Gebruik van de ruime muskietennetten boven de bedden is aan te bevelen. (Er worden dan ook (gelukkig) geen insecticiden gebruikt in het huis.)
    Maar wij zouden zo weer terug willen!”
